About Me

My name is Matthew Hendrix. I am married to a wonderful woman whose aspirations are so profound that she inspires me towards the growth and the realization of my own dreams. I am desperately, ineffably, unflinchingly in love with her. Her name is Cassandra. She has a beautiful blog here which everyone should go check out. Cassandra and I can be found @UnlikelyDoctor and @Pre_DSc on Twitter respectively. I do so enjoy using quotes to express myself and these next two make me think of my dearly beloved Cassandra.

“I don’t know what they are called, the spaces between seconds– but I think of you always in those intervals.”
― Salvador PlascenciaThe People of Paper

“And he took her in his arms and kissed her under the sunlit sky, and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls in the sight of many.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien

So more on myself, I enjoy thinking. Thought is sustenance to me, without it I would shrivel and waste away. My problem, if it could be called such, is that there are just too many things to think about. There are so many subjects which pique my interest and hold it for just a few days until the next subject begins to become more interesting than the one I presently find myself obsessed with. That being said a blog is the perfect outlet for me. Every time my attention is fixed by a subject I plan on writing and starting a figurative discussion about it. Whenever this happens expect my posts to be thought provoking (if not, then there is no advantage in the discussion) and exploratory. Sometimes I will probably just write about some passing object of curiosity and sometimes it will be a much more feverish exposition of a theme or field of study. Below I have listed many topics (grouped by subject matter, not level of curiosity) which interest me and which, from time to time, I will post about. But always be on the lookout for a novel interest because they will often spontaneously appear...

“It is perhaps the misfortune of my life that I am interested in far too much but not decisively in any one thing; all my interests are not subordinated in one but stand on an equal footing.”
― Søren Kierkegaard
